I finally took the plunge and started my own business

Ok...so my journey began about 10 or so months ago. I was a couple of months pregnant and living on the East Coast. A friend of mine's Facebook statuses were always about how much money she was making just to throw parties. Of course, I asked her "How do you do it?" That's when I found out about Slumber Parties and the unique opportunity it offered to make money (serious money at that) by helping to educate and empower women about their sexuality. At the time, though, I was using my money to stock up on baby things, so I didn't join. I never forgot about it, though. Fast forward to last week. My son is 4 months old. My savings account has long been depleted. I am a stay at home mom with nothing to do but go to school online and stay in the house all day. I wasn't working so I wasn't contributing to the household. And if you know me, you know that I HATE being dependent on others. Something had to give. And quick.

So, I remembered Slumber Parties and went back to doing research on it again. It was still just as appealing to me. I had tried the whole multi-level sales bit before. Twice. With Avon. It just was not for me. I had no interest in makeup so I wasn't good at selling it. But I am passionate about love and that's what Slumber Parties is all about. Loving yourself and your partner. I could totally get into that. Not to mention the company offers some GREAT incentives. So, let me get this straight. I would be able to stay at home with my child most of the time (a huge benefit); work as little or as much as I wanted, and only when I felt like; make as much money as I wanted to make; get incredible discounts on great products for myself; AND be rewarded with money, free vacations, great gifts, and possibly a car and/or a home. SIGN ME UP! And that is exactly what I did on my birthday. I had just gotten my tax refund and thought "what better way to spend a portion of this than to invest in my future and the future of my family?"

And let me tell you, things have been going great. Unbelievably great. I have already met a LOT of great women who are all so kind and full of great advice. I have been taking advantage of all of the WONDERFUL training material's on our company's consultant website. I have been working tirelessly on getting my launch party organized (it will be in 2 weeks) and I even have my first party booked (my cousin's bachelorette party). Perhaps most exciting of all is that in a little over a month I will be attending the 2011 Slumber Parties National Convention in New Orleans. Here, I will not only be able to attend FREE training sessions but I will meet a lot of fabulous, successful women, attend fun-filled events, witness how hard work pays off at the awards gala, and live it up in New Orleans (for the first time).

Things are really moving for me. I'm excited about the products and about what this company stands for. I was NEVER this excited about Avon. My boyfriend, who was skeptical about me doing this (and probably still is) has noted a couple of times about my excitement and says that he's happy that I have something to look forward to. He's also looking forward to testing out some of the products. I was practicing reading the demos to him and he was all smiles (and a few shocked Whaaaaats). Lol! I think I may have found my best customer already. ;)

Anyways, I just wanted to spread my happiness at finding something to be passionate about. Thanks for reading!
